NSS Activities
J.D. National B.Ed. College has always been a pioneer in social service throughout its distinguished decades of existence. Our college not only shapes the excellent careers of our students but also their character as responsible citizens of our country. NSS is a step forward toward fulfilling our vision. The best college should have the best facilities to make the future of the students bright.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector scheme of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It was launched in Mahatma Gandhi’s centenary year, 1969, aimed at developing students’ personalities through community service. NSS is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, working for campus-community linkage. The objective of NSS is the development of the personality of the student through community service.
The motto of the National Service Scheme is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU.’ This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service. It shows that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society as a whole.
The NSS unit at J.D. National B.Ed. College was first started in the year 2022. Two years of NSS at J.D. National B.Ed. College have led to high standards of learning with sustainable and ecological living, awareness campaigns, celebrating Yoga Day with students, faculty, and the adopted village, upliftment of social standards and health camps, and a positive impact on the lives of both our students and society. We have added many programs and special camps for overall well-being. The NSS unit has also helped society through community services and the distribution of sanitary napkins. These two years are the stronghold for the future generation of students. At J.D. National B.Ed. College, we are not just building the future, we are also building a citizen-friendly society. The dream of a successful and peaceful society is no longer just a dream.
